Louis Mair is a public school administrator with experience in leadership roles across several Georgia school systems. He served as principal at Gainesville Middle School West under the Gainesville City School System. During Louis Mair's tenure, the school was recognized by the Georgia Department of Education as a 2023-24 Math Leader School.
Before that, Mr. Mair was principal at Portland Public Schools, where he helped navigate the operational and instructional challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. His earlier administrative experience includes over 10 years as assistant principal in the Gwinnett, Dekalb, and Gainesville school systems. In these positions, he worked on teacher development, academic interventions, and leadership preparation. His work emphasized culturally responsive instruction and building stronger school-family relationships.
Mr. Mair earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies from the State University of New York College at Brockport, a master’s degree in education from Walden University, and an educational specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial University. He has also completed doctoral coursework in educational leadership at Mercer University.
